"I did this painting because I had seen so many long-married couples who do not communicate. They seem to sit and watch television, like "Wheel of Fortune". This particular painting was in a show and a juror talked about it. He said that it looked to him like the men were just staring out into space wathcing television. He understood exactly what I was trying to say. On the way home my husband said he never knew I was trying to say anything with my paintings."
