Six Scenes, One Place

  • The Fine Arts Museum of Gloucester 6894 Main Street Gloucester, VA, 23061 United States (map)

Six Scenes, One Place: The Story of Gloucester is a compelling exhibition that brings the county’s history to life through six distinct yet interconnected vignettes. Inspired by a new large-scale mural by Michael Rosato, the exhibition explores pivotal moments and enduring themes—from the region’s First Inhabitants and Revolutionary War history to its agricultural roots and working waterfront. Developed in partnership with the Gloucester Museum of History and the Fairfield Foundation, the exhibit pairs artwork with historical objects and interpretation to create a layered, engaging narrative. Together, these scenes offer visitors a deeper understanding of Gloucester’s past and the people who have shaped it.
